Three new players have been signed for the 2009/2010 Cricket Season
17 July 2009
CEO Alan Kourie of the bizhub Highveld Lions announced today that they have signed three new players for the 2009/2010 Cricket Season in the form of Zander De Bruyn, Thami Tsolekile, and Ugasen Govender.
The bizhub Highveld Lions have strengthened their playing base by signing Zander De Bruyn who will come back home to the Lions after having spent a number of years away from Johannesburg. Zander is currently playing County cricket for Somerset and seems to be in the prime of his cricket life. Furthermore Thami Tsolekile makes the move from Cape Town to Johannesburg where he has for a number of seasons represented the Cobras and various National teams very successfully.
Last and by no means least, Ugasen Govender from the Dolphins has also decided to join the family at Liberty Life Wanderers for the coming season – and will join the team in early September after his playing stint in the UK leagues.
Dave Nosworthy the Lions Head Coach said: “I am very excited about these three new signings, as I know that culturally all three will fit really well into the culture we are striving for in the team. In the three we gain real experience and youth, whilst both Zander and Thami are also real all-rounders which is an asset to any team. I look forward to meaningful contributions and performances in the coming season, and welcome Zander, Thami, and Ugasen into our fold.”
