Find all data from one point of access with Konica Minolta’s dokoni FIND



Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, has introduced dokoni FIND, a comprehensive enterprise indexing application, to the local market.

"With so much data being created on a daily basis – a mind boggling 2.5 quintillion bytes of data daily to be exact – it is becoming more and more difficult for knowledge workers to find information," says Greg Griffith, product manager: business solutions at Konica Minolta South Africa. "This amount of data could fill 10 million Blu-ray discs, which if stacked up would be the equivalent height of four Eiffel Towers. With this picture in mind, it is no wonder that searching for specific documents can result in the considerable expense of wasted time and manpower."
Unfortunately, Griffith explains, this inefficiency also negatively impacts a company's competitiveness. "Enter dokoni FIND, a solution that brings together all relevant data and gives office workers fast and easy access without having to switch between applications."

dokoni FIND automatically generates a universal index of the company's connected data stores (both structured and unstructured) and is compatible with 300 popular file formats. Regardless of the format or the repository in which it is stored, dokoni FIND abstracts content from disparate sources and helps users find and retrieve any type of data quickly and easily.

The flexibility of dokoni FIND enables the universal index to be accessed within SharePoint, Outlook, on iOS and Android devices, or from the dokoni FIND interface on the desktop. Workers can retrieve e-mail attachments, scanned files, notes, CRM records and more in seconds. dokoni FIND also utilises enterprise security to ensure users can access only the information they are authorised to see and all data is left exactly where it is stored.

To develop and launch dokoni FIND, Konica Minolta worked in partnership with the software provider VirtualWorks, a US based company that develops, sells and supports software products aimed at helping small and medium-sized businesses to organise, locate and manage their information and data.
