Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa walked
away with one of the top prizes at the first commercial digital
print show on the African continent, Africa Print.
Showcasing the entire digital process to both suppliers and manufacturers of digital printers,
finishing equipment, software, media and consumables,
Leon Minnie, the production systems product specialist for Konica Minolta South Africa,
says the expo was a valuable platform for both the company and its clients.
“A bonus was winning the ‘Best Large Stand’ award for, amongst others,
the stand’s design, ease of access, and communication aspects, as well as the attitude of our staff.”
The winning Konica Minolta South Africa stand was designed in a welcoming and approachable way,
and its open style allowed visitors to view products from the aisle and if interested, move onto the stand,
without any fuss or space issues.
“Our approach towards clients has always been thorough, yet open and relaxed.
I therefore attribute our success at Africa Print expo not
only to our great stand, but also to the professionalism, expert knowledge and effort that was displayed by the Konica Minolta South Africa personnel,”
A highlight on its stand was the bizhub PRESS C8000,
Konica Minolta South Africa’s new flagship model that is manufactured to meet the stringent
and customer-driven demands of the commercial offset and high volume digital environments.
Says Minnie: “It was a real showstopper and people were amazed by its superb quality and modularity.
In fact, it created such a stir that even the opposition came around to see what the buzz was about.”
Minnie says that he observed two particular trends at this year’s show and says
that commercial printing clients were mainly interested in print quality and robust build
quality of the machines, while on-demand clients were looking for solutions that could save
them money and enhance their success in the market. “At Konica Minolta South Africa,
we are definitely on par with these trends and could assist all clients.”
He adds that a benefit to visitors of the expo is the large variety of printer suppliers
and manufacturers showcasing their services and products under one roof, giving clients the opportunity
to benchmark and compare services and products. “An advantage for us manufacturers is that we were able
to pick up on the interest shown in our machines, with some clients even preordering new models,
thus providing us with a good indication of how our new products will perform in the market.”
To demonstrate its enhanced and complete digital printing solution,
Konica Minolta South Africa also displayed the service offerings from its partners, DigitalView and IPEX Machinery.
