Konica Minolta`s bizhub scores on latest BLI awards

Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa (KMSA) has announced that its bizhub C451, C550 and C650 models, all based on the same engine, recently scooped the 2007 Buyers Laboratory (BLI) "Pick" awards for "Outstanding Segment 4 Business Colour MFPs" in the 41ppm to 50ppm, 51ppm to 60ppm and 61ppm to 69ppm speed ranges, respectively.
The awards were given based on the impressive reliability and high-level overall image quality of these solutions.

A global provider of intelligence on document imaging products, BLI has been putting business equipment to the test for the past 46 years.

Its semi-annual "Pick" awards acknowledge the top performers in its battery of laboratory tests, which evaluate a wide range of the most important performance factors for buyers, including reliability, image quality, productivity, ease of use and a host of connectivity attributes.

The winning bizhub models employ Konica Minolta`s new "InfoLine Design", which offers a serious boost to ease of use in comparison to the previous generation of bizhub devices. New features include a control panel that not only tilts but swivels and features a full colour touch-screen LCD with tab browsing, LEDS on the paper drawers indicating when paper is low or needs to be loaded and icons on the panel displaying toner levels.

The three devices also each proved to be highly productive overall in their respective speed segments, particularly within colour copy mode, while the bizhub C451 scored well for black print productivity too.

Says KMSA digital colour product manager, Marianna Gdanis: "Add to these factors an above-average feature set for the bizhub C451, pricing that is lower than the average for the bizhub C550 and bizhub C650, as well as wide range of standard security features for all the products, and it`s easy to understand why the products have received these accolades."

"Konica Minolta has certainly done its homework in developing this new engine," says Pete Emory, Manager of laboratory testing at BLI. "Print quality is one thing, but to have copy quality that rivals it is outstanding. From multitasking to scanning, to their competitive to aggressive prices, these three units are dependable MFPs for business colour customers, general office use and colour environments."

"We have high expectations for the `next generation` bizhub and the BLI results vindicate this," adds Gdanis.
