Konica Minolta bizhub mfps integrated with rightfax

Bidvest Group company, Konica Minolta South Africa (KMSA), has boosted the functionality of its bizhub product range with the launch of Konica Minolta Extension for RightFax, which provides integration between Konica Minolta bizhub multifunctional products (MFPs) and RightFax. KMSA software product manager, Mohammed Vachiat says before the integration, users had to install fax modems into the MFPs. “The integration sees the harnessing of the scanning and printing power of Konica Minolta MFPs combined with the network fax power of RightFax”. “In addition, it provides significant cost reductions and productivity gains by enabling fast and easy integration of enterprise fax, document capture and delivery capabilities with MFP devices used for daily printing, scanning and copying,” he says.

Through tight integration with the RightFax MFP Module, Konica Minolta Extension provides access to RightFax server and electronic document delivery features directly from the Konica Minolta MFP control panel. This means users can use the control panel of the MFP to send and receive network fax jobs managed by the RightFax Server. Vachiat says Konica Minolta is constantly looking for ways to improve its offering and ensure its customers receive added value. “Users can now fax from a bizhub using RightFax, making it even easier than before to replace standalone fax machines,” he says. Outbound faxing incorporates four standard options that can be selected via the user interface. They are walk-up fax, RightFax user account, SecureDocs Certified Delivery and SercureDocs Encrypted Deliver.

Once the fax instructions are captured, the document is scanned, converted to a TIF image and routed to the RightFax server with the attached fax instructions. RightFax then converts the TIF and transmits the document. Incoming faxes arrive at the RightFax Server where they can be routed to the Konica Minolta bizhub MFP on the network. Faxes are received in the normal print queue and can then be printed or routed electronically for distribution and retrieval.
